The WatchDog Gauge is the ultimate vehicle monitoring system for any vehicle 1996 and newer. The WatchDog monitors all standard vehicle PIDs and reads and erases diagnostic Trouble Codes. The WatchDog allows the user to set vehicle temperature warnings to notify the vehicle operator when a particular vehicle parameter reaches a set temperature. The WatchDog can calculate, record, and save a range of vehicle performance tests such as 0-60 mph times and 1/4 mile times among a few other available tests. The major feature of the WatchDog is the “Driving Coach,” a patent pending feature that helps drivers improve fuel economy, edmunds.com points out that aggressive drivers can save as much as to 37% in fuel by adopting better driving habits.

The Driving Coach, A fun way to save fuel, money, and reduce damage the environment.

The benefits of the Driving Coach stretch far beyond simply saving the end user a substantial amount of money. The will help everyone who uses it realize that they really can play a major part in fuel conservation and reducing oil dependency. It will also very notably help individuals reduce their own carbon footprint by reduce the total amount of fuel they use overall.

The Driving Coach is easy to use and customize.
The Driving Coach is essentially an entire program itself that is packaged within the WatchDog as an optional feature; it appears to the user as a set of moving bar graphs and audio feedback and an overall grade. The sole purpose of the driving coach is to help drivers maximize their driving efficiency. It coaches drivers into better driving habits by providing them with real time visual and audio feedback. The driver of the vehicle need not do anything, but lend some attention to the Driving Coach and adjust their driving habits according to the feedback provided to them.
The driving coach is fully customizable allowing users to set fuel economy goals and adjust feedback sensitivity. The feedback sensitivity adjustment has three levels of sensitivity which are suitable for different drivers and different driving environments like in the city, on the highway, or out in rural areas.

Set Vehicle Warning Levels:

The WatchDog will notify the user when certain vehicle parameters read above the users specified preset levels. The parameters below are the parameters available for the end user to set warning levels. If a warning level is exceeded the WatchDog will begin to beep and then display the parameter that is out of range.

Performance Testing:

The WatchDog performance testing will accurately calculate and record a vehicles 1/4 mile times and everything in between. The performance testing allows the user the ability to trigger a performance test based upon when the vehicle begins rolling or based on a custom designed drag racing tree that is displayed on screen.

• 1/8 mile time
• 1/8 mile speed
• 1/4 mile time
• 1/4 mile speed

Simplified Installation and Updateable Software:

The WatchDog installs easily by plugging it into the diagnostic port under the driver side dash. The suction cup windshield mount allows you to position the WatchDog where you want it most. Once the physical installation is complete the setup wizard will guide you through the vehicle selection process on the screen. The WatchDog can be either powered by the diagnostic port or by the included power supply cable for key on/off power control.

Software updates are free and the included USB cable allows you to update the WatchDog software as needed for technical support, improvements, added features, and new applications. Software updates are free and available through Bully Dog's Update Agent computer software. Just start up the previously installed Update Agent software, plug the WatchDog into your PC (Windows only) with the included USB cable, and install any available updates.

The History

Bully Dog was formed in 1998 in Aberdeen, Idaho. The founders of Bully Dog Michael, Phillip, and Daryl Klassen --were heavily influenced by their father Harold's interest in improving vehicle performance. Several years prior to the company's inception, Harold had experimented with increasing performance on his diesel farm tractor by injecting propane into the engine's combustion chamber. In 1998, Bully Dog's owners took this concept and developed and patented a safe and effective propane injection system to enhance diesel engine performance. These systems were first sold out of their farm shop, but as demand increased, the owners moved the company to another location and officially organized Bully Dog. Bully Dog's quest was now to be recognized as the leader in the diesel performance industry, which motivated us to stay abreast of new technology in this industry. With the introduction of electronic components and software to improve performance, we began to research new types of products like intake and exhaust systems to complement our electronic components. Bully Dog was now able to offer a complete performance package. In 2005, the company expanded its range of products to include performance products for gasoline powered vehicles.

The Products

Product Development

Each product goes through an in-depth research and development process (R&D) followed by a grueling development procedure that is carried out by a staff of the best engineers in the world. Once designed, each product is put through months of real world testing. This testing is performed across the United States so that Bully Dog can be sure that each product works correctly and flawlessly in various elevations, weather conditions and driving situations from towing a heavy load to racing down the track.

Product innovation is key and Bully Dog takes innovation very seriously. In the past 12 years, Bully Dog has been first to market with vehicle-specific products and applications over 100 times while also being awarded many awards for our revolutionary products. And in 2005, with the release of the Triple Dog Downloader and Outlook Monitor, Bully Dog revolutionized the market with the ability to adjust power, safety and economy levels on-the-fly while driving down the road. Then in 2008 with the Triple Dog Gauge Tuner, we were able to combine a vehicle engine tuner, monitor, gauge and diagnostic device all in a single unit. The GT monitors and displays over fifteen different vehicle parameters (PIDs) and it includes our all new Driving Coach feature which teaches end users to maximize their vehicles fuel economy potential. The GT performs vehicle diagnostics by reading and erasing diagnostic trouble codes; this level of vehicle transparency isn't offered by any OEM or by any ot her aftermarket product. Also included is our performance testing feature designed to test a vehicles' performance capability on the drag strip; couple this with our free PC analysis software and users can also determine vehicle horsepower. The GT does it all and it works on the largest range of gasoline powered vehicles; in fact the GT works on eight different vehicle makes and over 50 different models. The WatchDog was introduced in 2009 and works on all 1996 and later vehicles with an OBDII port common to North America. The WatchDog serves as a digital gauge/monitor and features a valuable Driving Coach for gas and diesel powered vehicles. It features the ability to monitor over 20 vehicle parameters all while you receive valuable driving suggestions from the Driving Coach to maximize fuel economy.
